I started where most technology professionals start, building software. From mainframe systems to modern web applications, I honed a skill set I truly enjoy putting to work to solve real-world problems.
Somewhere along the way, I found myself drawn into the civic arena — building voter tools for Rhode Island campaigns and serving in GOP leadership on both sides of the Appalachians. My technical skills started to seep into other areas of real life, beyond just a career.
Then, it seemed something was missing. The more I engaged civically, the more I saw that what people needed wasn't just knowing where to go to vote or how to run for office. I mean, yes, those things are important, but I saw there was a serious gap in civic knowledge about our nation's founding.
Volunteering as a Constitution Coach with Patriot Academy, I watched people come to classes hungry for the true history of our nation and really engaged in lively discussion! I realized people needed to understand — or be reminded — that the foundation of this nation rested on Biblical principles. Faith isn't separate from citizenship, but the underpinning of all things.
It feels like I arrived at that realization backwards — career first, civic engagement second, faith as the foundation last. But once I saw it, I couldn't unsee it. Today that golden thread runs through everything: leading a Pray Vote Stand Chapter, teaching Biblical Citizenship, serving my church, writing code. All of it, with purpose.
A Rhode Islander by roots, I traded New England winters for the Blue Ridge foothills of Upstate South Carolina and haven't looked back. I share home base with rescues Shani and Carver (a German Shepherd with a big personality) and cats Reesie and BB King.
